About The Scentarian

Behind The Nose

Scent has the ability to transport us through time, unlocking vivid memories and emotions tied to past experiences. The power of scent has the unique ability to evoke emotions triggering us to our core.

Fragrant Memories are deeply intertwined with our emotions. Our sense of smell is directly linked to our brain's memory center. What we smell becomes preserved quietly in our minds. As time passes these memories turn into nostalgic treasures, forever linked to the memories of scent that shaped them.

Scents that one encounters can become markers and help shape their identity. It is our own personal sensory signature that enhances our uniqueness as individuals. Our scent memories connect us to the past and define ourselves in the present.

A single fragrance has the power to unlock your mind. What holds your key?

The Scentarian Press Room

Step inside the scented archive where memory, storytelling, and resilience meet the written word. Here you’ll find media features, fragrance reviews, interviews, and milestones that trace my journey: from recovering writer reclaiming her voice after a traumatic brain injury, to scent storyteller, and now, to perfumer.

Designing my own fragrance line is both a creative calling and a form of healing each formula rooted in emotion, memory, and transformation. This space honors the steps I’ve taken along the way, the people and perfumes who’ve inspired me, and the press that’s walked beside me on this aromatic path.

The Scent Strip Volume 2 The Wanderlust Issue

Reclaiming My Voice Through Scent and Story

After surviving a traumatic brain injury and battling seizures, I found myself in inpatient brain rehabilitation, learning how to navigate a new way of thinking, remembering, and creating. Writing once second nature became a mountain I had to climb all over again. But through persistence, patience, and the healing power of scent, I’m reclaiming my voice, one word and one perfume at a time.

My recent perfume review is a milestone in my recovery journey a reminder that while the process may look different now, it’s still mine. I’m deeply grateful to Jen from Immortal Perfumes for unlocking a core memory of my first published article In her magazine The Scent Strip, and to Jordan Samuel for Cortile Dolce, a fragrance that feels like a love letter to Sicily and now lives permanently in my heart.

This is more than perfume it’s healing. It’s memory. It’s my way back to myself.
